MichaŁ Kanarkiewicz
Inspirational Speaker | Business Coach | Trainer | Chess Master
Hi, my name is Michał!
I am an inspirational speaker, business coach and chess champion, determined to take your business to the next level.
Ever since I was a child, I have been learning that there is a lot to be gained at the chessboard. Some of the things I owe to chess are: perseverance, patience and concentration; I plan better and understand the consequences of my own actions.
But above all, chess has taught me to think strategically, critically, logically and analytically. And I pass this way of thinking onto companies, leaders, CEOs and managers.

"Confidence is very important. If you don't think you can win, you will make cowardly decisions at key moments (...). You see the opportunities, but also the limitations. I always believed in what I was doing on the chessboard, even when I had no objective reasons. It is better to overestimate your possibilities than to underestimate them."
Magnus Carlsen
Norwegian chess player, grandmaster since 2004,
current world chess champion
My story...
I'm not going to do any self-therapy here, but I'll start by saying that my childhood was not a bed of roses. I remember coming home from school one afternoon with my friends and encountering my dad staggering drunk around the school....
A horrible experience for an 8-year-old. I was embarrassed at every turn. I was sick of it... but then my first love appeared - chess.
My friend Ksawery visited me and said "Michal, look, it's chess!".
He explained the rules to me and although we didn't understand everything, we started playing. I was quickly drawn in. Chess reminded me of war. Two armies facing each other fighting for victory. I liked history and was impressed at the time by commanders who were able to achieve spectacular and repeated victories.
In addition, as Ksawery told me chess is usually played by intelligent people. And this already got me very interested. I wanted to be intelligent! And so it went from a game with a friend, to a school tournament, to my first professional chess tournament. An innocent visit from a friend set me on a life-changing path!
Avoid the crowd. Think independently. Be a chess player, not a chess figure.

It was at the age of 16 that my entrepreneurial adventure began....
Unfortunately, to go to chess tournaments, I had to have money. Others got money from their parents ... I had to make it myself. I started teaching the children of my friends and my mother, and that's where my entrepreneurial adventure began. At the age of 18, I set up my first business!
Over time, I started to develop this business to the point where today, I run a training and consultancy company that advises corporate clients. I translate the thinking of chess players into the business world.
I wouldn't have been successful if it wasn't for my fantastic mum and the world's best brother, who have supported me in my career development from the very beginning and accompany me on my continuing journey to the top.
They cheered me on when I was a young, talented chess player, appreciated me when I started working as a chess teacher and continued to relentlessly motivate me as I became a chess promoter, strategic thinking coach and inspirational speaker at major companies.
